The events I am experiencing seem to get better and better. This week I finally got to go to the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, and listen in on the congressional committees on National Defense and the committee on Labor. The buildings had a lot of history, including the printing machine that produced the first copy of the current Mexican Constitution. Along with my visit to the Chamber, I attended a meeting of Diálogo-México, which is a group of some of the most notable and influential business leaders in Mexico. This specific meeting hosted the sub-secretary of infrastructure, Fausto Barajas Cummings. It was such a unique experience to be able to rub shoulders with men of this caliber (not to mention the amazing Créme Brulée de Fruta de la passion—Maracúya—which is my favorite dessert now, hands down.)
